Climate Change and Al Gore One of the more interesting coffee table debates is whether the world is a better place by Al Gore failing to win the presidential elections. We may have avoided many of the mistakes of the Bush presidency but certainly the world would have missed out on Al Gore's remarkable film on climate change – An Inconvenient Truth. Al Gore's comparison of the effect of terrorism with the climate change effects of global warming put the issue in perspective and the film has achieved an undeniable impact throughout the world. We may have lost time in taking action to reduce the effects of global warming but now the conviction of the majority of the worlds population that action must be taken on climate change. We just hope that Governments around the world have the pulse on public opinion on climate change. |
