Water for food


In August 2003 a group comprising specialists from the department of agriculture, water experts, irrigation engineers and pipe manufactures assembled in the Kouebokkeveld some 300 kilometers north of Cape Town, South Africa, to view the most significant development in flood irrigation since the Sumerians 6,000 years ago.

World Vision, an international relief and development agency is constantly searching for long term solutions to hunger.  Because provision of relief food is not a long term solution, World Vision sought help to provide farmers with a more efficient way of using limited supplies of water for irrigation.  A video  is now available for download.
